Reminiscing

           Forerunner shook his head.  "Do you always need to showcase your humor to the new recruits right away?"  He was obviously exasperated, but there was a bit of fondness in his voice, too.  She realized the men were friends.
           "Do you always have to lecture the new recruits? Why do you feel the need to do that, again?"
           "Well, for one, they need to understand that we have to constantly reevaluate our moral hard stances to make sure we don't slip."
           "Well, I always just go ahead and help people."
           "What about making sure they get that this actually requires work?  Do you consider that important?  Don't forget that it's a whole lot harder on us if we have to suspend people because they think we don't check."
           "Oh, yeah, like good old Heroman."  Macie could definitely hear the smile in The Ghost's voice.
           "Heroman?" she couldn't help but ask dubiously.
           "Yeah, it was the worst pseudonym we ever heard," The Ghost admitted.
           Forerunner shook his head at the memory.  "Once he got into the guild, all he ever did was sit on his couch at home.  It was a lot for us to go through to get him removed." He sighed.  "But even he wasn't as bad as Scales of Justice."
           "Oh, man," The Ghost chuckled. "What a god complex."
           Seeing that she was about to be caught up in some reminiscing that she really wasn't included in, Macie cut in.  "Um, I'm actually gonna go get some, uh, food," she pointed to the refreshments table.  "But it really was an honor to meet you both."
           "It was good to meet you, too," Forerunner shook her hand.  The Ghost offered an 'mhm' as an alternative to nodding (you know, since his head was invisible).  "I'm sure we'll be seeing you often as you work towards getting into the guild."
