She kicked the man out cold as she stood in one fluid motion, ducking as she did so. White Wind assumed there was no hope in asking nicely for them to stop, so she didn't give them the option. She bolted towards one, leaping. She used a burst of wind to throw herself into the air. Her attacker shot where she would have been, clear under her body, and didn't have time to recover. She landed on the robber, tucking behind him to pull him down and use him as a shield as they both fell.
Panting hard, she took a deep breath, hoping there was enough honor among thieves for them to wait for her to come to them, rather than shooting through their companion. She rolled out from under the unconscious body, taking only an instant to make a tactical evaluation. Although White Wind could knock them both down from where she and they stood, the bullets would strike her. She dropped back to the floor as they both fired, twisting to blast wind at the one to her right, knocking that robber down.
The one still standing rushed her, shooting the whole way. White Wind dodged frantically until his gun clicked. Then he paused, and she met him the rest of the way, kneeing for his stomach. He grabbed for her leg and kept it from knocking the wind out of him. While his hands were occupied, she grabbed his shoulders to brace herself to jump into kneeing him. He dropped, but rolled over atop her, pinning her beneath him. It was at that moment that the police came in. Oh, thank goodness.
In the next few moments, the robbers had been cuffed- she was surprised to see that one was a woman, though there was absolutely no reason she should have been- and she was standing up. Now that the adrenaline was wearing off, she knew that at least one rib was cracked from the bullet that struck her. She also knew that she'd be needed for an official statement, probably a general checkup, and that she'd absolutely be late for the mixer.
