It took the first gunman only a moment to notice White Wind. As he turned towards her, she struck the gun from his hand. It landed to the far right of the door. The man behind him fumbled with his gun, trying to get a good aim at her, but she kicked it upwards, twisting it out of his grasp. Macie flinched as a spray of bullets tore up the ceiling, hoping they didn't reach anyone who might be upstairs. The first man started to go for his gun. White Wind moved to intercept him, but the second man grabbed her shoulders. Instead of allowing herself to be stopped, she swung her legs into the first man's abdomen. He doubled over but continued grasping for the gun.
Macie couldn't stop herself. She darted out from behind the door and kicked the gun away from him. Rage flashed across his face and he grabbed her ankle, pulling her leg out from under her. Macie toppled into the splits. The man pushed himself up, and Macie struggled to do the same, sliding her back leg forward. He pushed her into the wall. She grabbed for him to stop him from getting the gun, and he twisted her wrist back.
